Management & Staff

The Mt Eliza Farmers’ Market is an initiative of the Mt Eliza Chamber of Commerce. To view the Village’s website click here to view all the wonderful shops and details of what's on offer in the picturesque village of Mt Eliza.

The market is run by a volunteer committee consisting of Mt Eliza Chamber of Commerce members and Rotary and Lions Club members. The market also employs casual staff to assist in the management of the monthly event. If you are interested in working at the Mt Eliza Farmers’ Market, please contact the market manager using our contact form.

The original Market Manager, Melanie Wigg established her passion for farmers’ markets whilst living and travelling throughout the UK. Having attended the UK’s FARMA conference in 2008, Mel was abuzz with excitement and passion at the thought of starting a farmers’ market in her home town of Mt Eliza. She researched the markets that were considered to be the UK’s best and was committed to ensuring that Mt Eliza was going to be one of Victoria’s most genuine and successful farmers’ markets.

Currently the market is managed by Alison Doherty, who has a wealth of experience in marketing and event management. The market has settled into its mature phase, with a full compliment of stalls each month, a waiting list of interested sellers and an extremely regular number of shoppers. The market has become an integral part of Mt Eliza Village life and an important monthly social gathering.
